I ordered the sky jacker 2.5" lift from quadratec about a week and a half ago. The guy said the stuff would be here by last tuesday. the entire week goes by and i get nothing. So I'm gettin all pissed wondering where my stuff is, calling UPS telling them their guy F'd up. They said they delivered it blah blah blah. And then just today I see my sister and she says oh hey... there are some boxes underneath the tarp out there with your name on them.... The UPS guy decided to put the delivery underneath a tarp i had sitting in my driveway (cleaning out the garage) because it was raining outside. This was last monday. So am I the idiot for not looking under the tarp or should the UPS guy leave a note or something??
Ok, now that im done venting... I am planning to replace my exhaust from front pipe back with a hi-flow cat and borla catback along with doing my suspension lift with daystar shackles this weekend. Can you guys suggest anything i will need other than an angle grider, my BFH and a case of some fine lager?

HeHeHe! The same sort of thing happened to me. But it was only one box not an entire lift kit.
As for tools I would sugest a GOOD Pitman arm puller in you got a droped arm with your kit. I broke 3 of the free loners from the Auto parts store before I Just cut it off.

its the ups guys fault. it is cool they put the boxes under the tarp to keep em dry, but when they do things like that they are suppose to leave a note on your door saying they left em there. they left some of my stuff in my yard a few times, but always left a note on the door sayin so.
as for the lift tools, like you said a grinder and a bfh!! also the sawsall helps out too. lots of blades and lots of grinder cut off wheels too, those grade 8 bolts can eat em up fast. when it comes to taking the bolts out of the rear spring eye, the best bet is to cut them. most people cant get em to budge. i just cut mine, along wiht most other bolts, and went to mcmaster carr or grainger and picked up new grade 8 hardware. this way will save you tons of agravation. and you said you got the daystars so if the front shackles are giving you trouble cut them too since the daystars come wiht all new nuts and bolts.

just something bout what coolhand said, you shouldent need the pitman arm puller cause you shouldent have to change the pitman arm. even if the kit comes with one i wouldent put it on, you shouldent need it unless your going with like a 4in+ lift.

I think any lift requires a dropped Pitman arm. The reaso for the dropped pitman arm is to keep the steering components all parallel. If they are not parallel you get bump steer or even binding in extreme cases.

I can't tell if she knew the whole time, but if she did, your sister is at fault. She should have told you the second they arrived. If she didn't know till recently then that blows my theory out of the water.

Bob I dont totally agree. I mean, yes, you need to keep things parallel from what I read.... mainly the drag link should be parallel with the traction bar.
My lift kit came with a traction bar reloaction braket, which lifts the traction bar attach point 2". The spring lift is 2" Therefore, all the angles are maintained.... everything is still parallel, and no pitman arm needed.... per say.
On mild lifts, 2-2.5" I have not seen any come with or require a pittman arm.

BB? A BB (budget boost) is for coil springs.... not leaf springs with shackles.
I assume you mean a 2" BL (body lift) with 1" shackle lift? Froma suspension standpoint, that is only 1" of real lift, and therefore you arent even really affecting your steering angles.
