I had a 2.5, ax15 with 4.88 and 35" claws. I drove the turnpike a lot with it, but mostly around town driving. Never had a problem with it. When climbing the mountains on my way to the ski slopes, it looked like I was rowing a boat. In 3rd it would gain speed, in 4th it loose speed, then back to 3rd, then up to 4th, then down to 3rd, then back to 4th, and on it went.

Was bad to drive? Not at all. I'd do it again if I had another 2.5. I wheeled the hell out of it and never had a prob.

Go 35's and 4.88. You'll be fine.

If it has tracks, tires or tits, its gonna cause a problem.

i know what you mean, i lived in Greensburg, PA and drove all over that area so i know the gears shifting in our area there. I have the 4.88s and lockers and everything installed, minus the AX15

Yup, drove from south hills of Pittsburgh to hidden valley tons of times. Rt 31 off the Donegal exit up the mountain was fun. Lots of shifting. lol

I run 4.56s with a 2.5/ax5 and 35" tires. Dont use 5th much but i can cruise 70 all day long at around 3k rpm in 4th. Now if i drop my average speed to around 60-65 i still pull down decent fuel mileage too. Basically, i dont get in a hurry lol. But it does good enough for every day duties. Drove it like that every day for years until i started my new job and they gave me a truck.

Oh yeah, i want to add this, if you do go with 35s and plan to see much road time, choose your tire tread carefully. The MTs that i run are not real aggressive. It does make a difference.

Your limited slip differential sucks.
