Who bought a JK swaybar for their YJ?

If you bought a JK electric swaybar before the massive price hike please show me where you fall on this poll.

Here is the original thread about the sway bar modification

http://jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=358591

And if you actually received the sway bar post your name up.

I'm thinking of emailing the corporate HQ.

This is what I have so far.

"I recently purchased a 2007 Wrangler JK electronic disconnecting swaybar from my local Jeep dealer at the beginning of January. At that time the dealership showed 6 of them in-stock. I paid for the swaybar ($80) and expected to receive it a week later.

Me dealer called me today to inform me that they would be cancelling my order and refunding my money because you have increased the price of the sway bar setup.

I believe I have been cheated and lied to and you have not honored an already committed sale. If the price discrepancy was a mistake, I am sorry but I have already entered into a legal agreement with you for the purchase. Recinding the sale is fraudulent and legal action may be pursued.

I would appreciate confirmation and follow-through of the sale which you agreed to, or Jeep will not only face legal repercusions but I will make sure that it is known that you do not honor your contracts, not just in this case, but possiblly any and all cases following."

Whatchu think?

I ordered mine by phone the day I saw your thread. I paid via CC and picked it up 3 days later. I got one of the original 6 I guess.

I got a call today stating that DC was cancelling all orders and jacking up the price. I asked the parts man at the time of order if after I ordered the price could be raised (I saw this coming) and he said "no" Now this. I always thought that this could not be done, that if there were two prices, the lower of the two must be given. Maybe a class action suit?

Paul, is this your area of expertise?

Good thing you drive a Jeep else being a defense attorney is a strike against.

Whats a swaybar? I honestly dont understand why you guys are so gung ho about it. You really dont need one on a YJ. I took my sway bar and both trackbars off and trashed em years ago.

I agree. You do have to remember, those who seek a swaybar on their jeep are probably looking to make their daily driver a little more capable.
But it would be pointless for jeeps like mine and yours to install a system like this.

Those people mentioned above make up a extremly large population of Jeepforum, and that is why there is such hype about it.

Well, I ordered, and put my credit card on file, but they didn't actually run the card (I don't think). I guess I didn't exactly pay then, but I tried to!

Then they called today and said $1770, we cancelled your order for you.

I got the call from my Jeep dealership today, I had already paid them and they said there was nothing they could do about it. DC cancelled my order at $80.36 and I can reorder for $1700. The really cool thing is that I paid with check so if I want a refund I get to wait till a week from monday before I can even get my money back.

I hope there is something we can do, it's their screw up I think they should have to honor it

I got one. I guess I was one of the super lucky ones. You posted the original thread on a sat afternoon. I didnt read it untill sunday. That monday I ran to the dealer on lunch break and ordered and paid for mine. When I ordered it he said there was 9 in the warehouse. Total for me came to like $72 after tax. They called 2-3 days later and I picked it up. Wow, for once in my life I think I was one of the lucky ones.
