where can i get a replacement brake line (not the brake hose)

i tried to disconnect the preformed brake line that runs from the master cylinder manifold to the rubber brake line on the drivers side front.. i ended up rounding off the hex head and rendered it useless.

where can i get just that part? i dont want to shell out the bucks for the entire set and want to just replace this one.

i also thought about cutting the stripped piece off and replace it and flare out the line again. wouldnt lose that much of my brake hose since i am putting on extended braided hoses. but if i go this route, how do i cut the thing cleanly?

Go to NAPA.. I believe they sell 3/16" line in 12", 20", 30" and 40" lengths. You can piece a couple together if needed. Cheap too.. like $4 each.

steel lines

We just replaced two steel brake lines today and what a PITA. Found everything we needed at Sanels and Robbins but not at VIP or Autozone. You have to go where the repair shops get their parts.

The dealership had the line running to the rear, prebent for only like $17. For the front, I used and angle grinder with a cut off wheel then re-flared them. Napa had the flair nuts for cheap.

I stripped my fitting for my passenger side hardline whe doing my lift. Wound up cutting the fitting off and replaceing with a new one. Flared the line and everything is good. Just get a new fitting and flare it. Picked my fitting up at advance auto, or salvo or something.

To cut the line use a tubing cutter like you use to cut copper pipe. Any hardware store will have these and flaring tools in stock. The correct way is to cut it and flare it but alot of auto parts stores carry compression fittings that will work too. I have seen these used and yes they did work. I personally have never used them though. In the future when taking break lines off use a line wrench and either liquid wrench or some heat!
