And when I had to replace them since both were snapped off when we purchased them, a quick search on morris and quadratech showed the same single mount, three screw antenna and mount.

I understand about odd ball parts and differing options but I would believe the build sheet and parts manual
Yes mine is the 3 screw mount but it also has a single screw "retainer" above it.

Coincidentally, a friend just came through for me. In case anyone is interested, Amazon carries this antenna set-up (Metra 44-UP58):

Thanks for the link, mine broke this weekend brushing the snow off.

TJs had a round port that the radio antenna was mounted to. In vehicles made without a radio and antenna (still optional on TJs), Jeep installed a filler in the hole like this:

TJ with factory antenna:

Also - here is a Jeep stock photo of a YJ with an antenna. You can see it has the mount as posted earlier from the OEM parts catalog.

my brothers 91 had the same one that's on the red one in the first pic. as a quick fix we found a driveway reflector on a aluminum rod at wallyworld for $0.98 and knocked the reflector off it and stuck the rod it in the hole with a few wraps of tape to stop it from rattling. worked great until he bought the one from amazon.

Finally purchased it from amazon last week and works great. Took about 10 min. to install and that's with stopping to have a beer. The guy on amazon has only a couple left.

I'm curious, has anyone with the odd-ball 2 point set up checked their build sheet to see if it lists a factory installed radio?

Yep that should give us the answer whether or not these are factory equipment.

My '93 has the second style antenna, though the mounting spot on the body is different. Mine is mounted lower and more towards the front, on the actual body panel, not on the triangle piece as the pic you provided shows.
