Wheeling the TNT Customs coil conversion [pics]

This was my first chance to wheel YJ since the coil conversion, front detroit, gears, shocks, etc......and it was a lot of fun. I like the SWB. I like the super low gears in the NV4500. I like the TNT Customs coil conversion. I like how smooth the long arms and coils are. I like the full belly skid. Basically I didn't have any complaints.

These pics were all taken today at the Badlands Offroad Park in Indiana.

Nice YJ in the parking lot. It didn't have any part of the factory frame left. It was all tube underneath. Pretty pimp.

A friend's XJ getting it:

Oops:

Crawling the YJ up a ledge in the quarry:

Playing in the rocks:

Back at it after a fixed ujoint:

Hmmm....these mud holes are deep:

This is getting worse before it gets better:

Couldn't back out of it and couldn't go forward....even with a couple of guys pulling on a strap....it wouldn't settle.....so we hooked it up to another rig and it came right down:

Looks like fun. Nice pics.

I wheeled with Carrie from over on the Colorado4x4 board who has the first (prototype) TNT coil conversion on her red YJ. It does well.

Her father, & boyfriend Wally, needed to address some items within the kit to be able to install it, but afterwards it was well worth it.

They are (or were as of 2 weeks ago when I was with them) still dialing in the front tracbar and we welded some gussets in at Carries Fathers shop to help reinforce things.

I did drive it while in Grand Junction & it did okay, but still needs some steering fine tuning.

A few pics of hers are here:

Your jeep looks good.

What kind of coils did you use?

Carrie had issues because they went with OTK beefed up steering and it wouldn't fit with the track bar. So, they had to relocate it and build a custom track bar mount. I'll be beefing up my steering soon too.....we'll see how it goes.

I didn't have any fitment issues when I installed mine. It took quite a while to do all the work and welding, but no real problems:

They give you coils with the kit. I'm not sure what they are.....but they seem to work well.
