wheel backspacing question

I see Quadratec is offering some Moab style wheels that they say will fit the YJ

the backspacing is listed as 5", will that put the tire into the front leaf spring at full lock, or will there be plenty of clearance?

Depends on how big a tire you run.

I have 4" of backspace and my 32x11.5 rubbed bad. It took about 4 washers on the steering stops to keep them from rubbing. Those without leaf springs can get away with more.

They will FIT a YJ, as in the bolt pattern is the same. Backspacing is probably ok for 29" tires, mayyyybe 30's. You want 4" to 3.25" depending how far you want them to stick out, what size tire etc.

I think you will find more jeepers with 31-35's run that range.

The lower the backspace #, the more the wheel sticks out the sides. I run 3.25" on 33x1250s. I'd prefer the 3.5 but the price was too killer.

I was tossing that size around too because I have a 4 banger. My spare is a 33x1050x15 and I'm glad I went with the 1250's. These are on 15x8's.

If you really want 33x1050's, I'd look for 15x7's for your wheels.
