'92 is the best because it's the second year of fuel injection & first year of the 'family' roll cage!
I have to say 1993 as well as 1992, as they both have the family roll cage, FI, and no center brake light. (And I have a 1993 )

Although mechanically, I would go for 1994-1995 as they had the external clutch slave as well as everything the 1992 and 93 had, but they do have that stupid center brake light that is just asking to get broken off.

88's the best because most of them have or need a complete retrofit of BEEF!

Score another point for the redheaded-stepchild 87's!

Mine is an original paint, low mile survivor. Yeah, the gauges are crap.

I just pull over @ every third gas station.

Kind of scared to crawl under & look @ the tranny ID tag....

My first was a 91 but rolled it a short 11 months later
The sport bar held up thankfully and the roll was slow enought the guy in the back was able to jump out.

My 92 is better in some ways, but the look of the 91 still reflects the childhood image of what a jeep looks like

Looks close to even going down the stretch. Come on 92! Where u guys at?!

87 is no. 1 on the assembly line. I think the 87s make a better Jeep owner.....
they force you to spend time learning every possible thing that could go wrong on your jeep.

Only had my 87 two weeks and spent more time under the hood than driving it. Lets go number one!!

I just got a 95. Does that count? I'm still learnin. She is white and is bone stock. I like the term, 4 gopher holes ( probably what they look like too!) and a 5 sp. I just changed the tires and wheels. She looks to have been garaged most all her life. Not a single spot of rust and purrs like a kitten for 166,000 miles. Original radiator to boot..Now I just have to investigate this roll bar situation. Whats a family roll bar????

I just bought a 1987, 80k original. Of course the tranny is whining in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th..... 4th is quiet though. But luckily for me the gauges all work, especially the gas gauge! Not much rust, got a heck of a deal though!
