Well, all YJ Wranglers are AMC design. Chrysler bought AMC in late '87, but didn't do anything much to the design as far as I know until '91, when they improved the computers (OBDI) and added MPFI.

As a side note, I think it's cool that the original keys to my 1988 still have the AMC logo on them

Chrysler's jeep are the TJ. JK, etc.
The YJ has the perfect mix of influence from AMC and Chrysler.

My (and I think yours?) I4 is TBI w/ OBDI. The data ports are right on the side under the hood. Or did AMC have a computer controlled TBI system that had data ports that are the same, and read on an OBDI scanner?

88 here.
although there's not much left of the 88 drivetrain...I think the block and the front half of the transfer case.

Oh and only the tub and frame are 88...the front is cj7.

Ford rear, durango/dakota steering.

Aftermarket fuely and DIS.
