What Type of Oil Do You Run In Your 4.0L?

Just curious what different people are running in their 4.0L's. I remember someone told me years back that by running 5w30 and little adjustment you can get rid of the typical "ticking" or "knocking" that the 4.0L makes well running. Anyways I tried searching the forum. Just curious if anyone isn't running 10w30 and why?

10w30 Mobil 1, oil changed @ 7,500 miles.
Also run full synthetic in the diffs, tranny, xcase and PS. I picked up an honest 2mpg.

I try to do it every 5,000 miles. IMO well worth the (slight) increase in cost.

Whatever is on sale at WalMart. 5w30 winter and 10w40 summer.

It's just oil, the brand is not as important as regular changes every 3-4,000 miles.

.

A recent Gallup public opinion poll shows the NRA, at 58% approval, has a higher approval rating than either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

Well that is sorta right it's not the oil it the additives they add. Now what is more important is the oil filter.

You can buy the most expensive oil out there with the best performance ratings without the oil filter that will clean it up you have just wasted your money. So if you are looking at what to spend your money on buy the best filter you can find and the cheapest good quality oil can get then you will have the winning formula. Do not buy those $4-7 filters spend a little more there.

A 89 yj with a 4.0 aw4 sye out of an 92xj. Now the hard part is done time to get it up in the air just a bit. Working on 8.8 with 3.73 and lsd for the rear. and new D30 hp with 3.73 .
For those who have not figured this out I'm old school but can handle the new too.
