What's the name of this part?

What is the name of the five pieces with the rod bearings that are visible? The rebuild kit that I ordered only came with one. Are not all of them necessary?

I only have the short one that's directly in front of the middle pile of synchros. Also, what are those small pieces next to the tube?

The small pieces are called synchro blocks, the bearings are called cage bearings. Did you get a master rebuild kit or a shortened version?
Look on YouTube under ax-15 rebuild. Will Robinson has a series on rebuilding one. Mean max also has a write up in the forum on rebuilding.

If it's not broke- modify it, so it won't break

It would seem I got the shortened one. I've read Mean Max's thread and it will be very helpful. But are new cage bearings necessary if the old ones work? I guess what I'm trying to say is should I replace them anyway since I have the thing already taken apart?

If you have the new parts and it's already apart- yes put them in. Have you checked your tolerances yet with feeler gauges ?
