You can also use it to give a love tap to the guy in front of you on the trail to hurry the hell up. What??? that is why they have them on desert racers rigs...

Hmm.. I was guessing it was for the winch wire or rope to guide it away from the hood for when u have to tie off say 10 or 15 ft above the jeep.
