What is this part?

Hey guys. I am putting together a remand engine I recently acquired, and I have run into this piece. I figured where it goes, but I don't know what it's called and my Haynes manual hasn't showed a picture of it yet. Just hoping someone can tell me what it is so I can find the torque for it. Here are a couple pictures. It the rib looking thing.

Sent from my iPhone, probably because I am bored at work.

Okay, so another question. I have been looking online and reading threads from all sorts of sites. I haven't found what I want, I have found the pricey solutions, such as kits from quadratec, but not what I want. I am looking for a complete list of all the bolt sizes used on a 4.0. The engine itself is for a 98, according to the engine block numbers I found 810MX27. Anyway, I was hoping someone had a link or might know what they are. I believe I have most of the bolts. But I'am missing ones for the thermostat housing and water pump. Stuff like that. Thanks in advance for any help.

I do, but I am really hoping to get new if at all possible. If I can get the list of sizes. Then I can get them from work for pennies. If I can't find one, then the JY will be my last resort. Ill keep searching though.

doesn't the factory manual list the bolt sizes in the first chapter? google for a fsm or try morris 4x4 and see if theirs shows what you need. i think they have links to some fsm for our wranglers in their tech section

I checked the fsm, and there are bolts in there, but it just tells you all the conversions for the bolts. It doesn't tell you what they are for or or how many of them you need. I think I may have to end up buying a kit. Thanks for the help guys.

Okay, so I found a site called alloybolyz.com, they have a kit, but it's for the 258, not the 242. I am just wondering if anyone knows if most or all of the bolts would be the same size. Here is the page http://alloyboltz.com/catalog/produc...eqiq4vkh534aa2

Not all bolts are created equal. The size is important, obviously, so everything will fit, but the metallurgy of various engine bolts, studs, and nuts isn't just a size issue- the alloy and its toughness for the intended use is of equal importance as the size.
