what line is this ?

dont have a pic but it fronts from the gas tank and looks like a metal brake line along the driverside frame rail up into a rubber line on the driver side firewall in the engine compartment. i think its a breather ??????? at the end of the rubber there was nothing maybe the lost breather . what is all this im talking about ? thanks

I think it's the tank vent that's supposed to tie in to the charcoal canister

Mad guess would be it is the line that goes to the charcoal cannister.

Is it quite small in diameter? If yes, then it's likely the vent line
