what gear ratio does my 89 yj have

I have an 89 4.2L 5sp YJ and want to know what gears I have, I really don't know what it means but want to find out. Is it my transfer case or my axels?
Please help

Usually its on a tag at the 9 o'clock position on the rear differential.

I have an 87 YJ and the tag is unreadable. What I can read makes no sense, so I have no idea what my ratio is. My VIN comes back as a Laredo, but I didnt think Laredo's existed in 1987. Mine doesnt have a chrome grill, full doors, or a hard top, so I think mines a standard. I guess the only way Ill know is to do the spin test....

Your gear ratio, when normally asked, is your axles. As stated, you probably have 3:07's

Your transfer case is also geared down. It is 2.72:1

From the FAQ.

What gears do I have in my Jeep?
I4 Automatic - 3.73:1
I4 Standard - 4.10:1
I6 Automatic - 3.54:1 (normally)
I6 Standard - 3.07:1, 3.54:1 or 3.73:1 - must verify with the tag on the axle or by pulling the differential cover and reading the numbers stamped in the ring gear or by counting revolutions of wheel versus driveshaft.
