What lift do you have? the bushings on mine pressed right in by hand, but the springs eyes are diiferent size on each end. maybe you were trying to put the wrong bushing in the wrong end of the spring?

Reinstalled the gas tank after cleaning it out and installing a new pick up tube filter. What a miserable job. I would rather pull and reinstall the transmission and transfer case than ever have to drop that tank again. It's just so big and awkward to handle by myself. And being at the rear of the drivetrain, 20 years of dirt and debris being kicked up on it, coupled with small amounts of oil seepage to make it all stick to the tank make for a very nasty, dirty job.

But the job is done, the Jeep is back on the road and I am degreased and going for a ride this morning with no top or doors. Woot!

the lifts from rustys..... and i could only wish i was trying to press it in the wrong side.. the rear of the leafs already has a rubber one pressed in where as the front of them you have to press in the poly ones so im just taking it to a shop today to get them to do it... BIGGER POWER TOOLS THEN I HAVE

Finally got around to doing the bed liner in the tub. I can't find Herculiner up here, so I spray bombed it. It looks a hell of a lot better than the scratched and rusted red paint

Went to the junk yard. Found a Cherokee with the front drive shaft laying on the ground. Took the yoke off, paid the $10, went home, installed it with a new U-joint, went for a ride. Came home, washed it inside and out. Went for another ride.
I still need to pull the front Aussie tho'. It's trash.

I build the frame for my ammo can center console. I am going to make it into a quick release and I got that idea from Jbolty. I was looking to do the least amount of welding as possible, so I used a combo of 3/4" gas and water pipes. I am going to weld the fittings together as well as the back plate for the quick release. I will post the finished product in a day or two, but the cooler full of beer and a pretty girl take precedent.

Cheers to all!

Dropped the windshield, pulled back the dash and installed some new 4X6 Pioneer speakers in the dash.

Trush be told - I am not sure if it was worth the hassle. I am thinking if I ever think of doing it again, I won't. I'll just abandon the speakers and toss some 6X9 boxes in the back

But, they are indeed in there and I finally have TWO working speakers that toss out good enough sound for me... for now...

I put the 8.8 under the YJ yesterday, and drove it 20 miles to work this morning.

More strength, disc brakes, limited slip, and diff armor. I love the thing so far!

Jake
