My pipe had snaped off of the bracket and was hitting the gas tank skid and the schakle bolt!

I ended up welding it back together so that it didn't hit either and patched the hole in the exhaust back where it had snapped off.

You ought to do a write up on that.

Started tearing apart my new engine (pulled from a wrecked 96 grand cherokee) to replace my YJ's ailing 4.0... This motor I pulled today is MINT! Got my rear brakes done, as well as my tie rod replaced, and my stupid state inspection done today as well... Hopefully within the next month I should have this motor installed!!!

I am stoked

I DROVE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE I BOUGHT IT.

I am very excited. I have owned a 92 YJ with H.O., AX15, and 231 for over a year (14 months). And after getting my rear drive line and yoke installed, I was able to run it around. Now I need to have the Shock Mounts welded on the axles, and modify the emergency brake system with the 8.8.

I have a steep driveway, and at idle of 800 rpms the wrangler backed up my driveway without any need for gas.

John

I would check the alternator output and make sure you are not cooking out your battery. It looks a bit wet.

My battery doesn't have a hold down strap and bounces around a bit causing it to leak some water

Used some baler wire from work to tie off my tailpipe as the hanger rusted off and bailed sometime in the last week or so. Also used said baler wire to tie the muffler hanger back to it's rubber hanger (which broke. poop.)

not quite yj related... finished wiring my trailer, and still have issues with it. Grr.

Took off the hard top Saturday, then went to put on the bikini top. I ordered the wrong header bar. DOH!! Called 4WD Parts on Monday and they sent me the correct bar and I got it today. Bikini top is on. Thanks Brinks at 4WD Parts in Indianapolis. You rock dude.

Rattle canned the hood, grille, and right fender to match rest (previous owner got into accident and replaced with mismatched parts) Also softop came in yesterday and installed today. What an improvement!
