In the process of replacing my waterpump...they never seem to seal up right the first time!
Figured I'd change out the thermostat while I was at it...lo and behold, no thermostat installed! Why the hell do ppl do things like that? Hopefully everything seals back up when I go back out...just needed to walk away for a few after putting it back together and having it leak!

WORST DAY WITH THE JEEP EVER!!!!!!! started out driving to Georgia from North Carolina got about 100 miles into my trip and passed some lady on the side of the road and didn't stop for her (AND YES KARMA SET IN) about 10 min later oil started pouring into my jeep from my makeshift floor board from dropping my trans so i pulled over and found my pcv valve came off from the valve cover so i put it back in and started driving again well to notice the oil pressure dropped again and oil started pouring in again i pulled over yet again to find the back ccv valve came out and yes i was almost out of oil now so i stopped at a gas stating and got more oil then my ignition system went out due to a fuseable link so THANK GOD I HAD MY WIRING STUFF so i fixed that then i started driving again not thinking about my gas then oh yes i ran out of gas..... so i got it to the gas station with MORE oil all over the place so i gave up and found the nearest autozone for the new gramlets for the pcv and ccv to fix it then after i got that done my wifes car got a flat.... fixed that then got back on the road crused for a good while then i blew a head gasket and valve cover gasket....... GERRRRRRR

Water pump leaked like a sieve during pressure test, left me with just over a gallon in radiator. Firestone wanted $400 plus to do it. I dismantled everything with the pump ready to pull out (hanging by a heater hose) as it got dark...will wait for daylight.
Question - why does the original have studs on which the fan pulley will mount while none of the replacements at Autozone, Quadratec, NAPA, etc. show them in pics? How do I mount my fan now? |

Installed a new ignition lock cylinder today! Joy for being able to take my top off and not have to worry about my jeep being able to be started without the need of keys! wooh!

installed new valve cover gasket, new spark plugs, built a hard top hoist, and bought a lot of goodies for her!
I bought some breaks, and some herculiner. She is going to get pampered tomorrow.

Finally got my water pump and thermostat in and everything sealed up! No leaks.
Took her out on the road and the temp shot up to red...I was afraid that I was going to need a radiator. Especially since I found that the PO had been running it minus a thermostat.

Finally took the hard top off. My wife drove it for the first time. Pulled my brand new bikini top out of the box to install and the header bar is wrong. Have to call 4wd Parts Monday to get correct bar. Then the rain started coming down. Threw on Jeep cover. Darn Indiana weather. Didn't get to drive it with the top off much.
