Ordered some new parts! Getting a stone guard set from 4wd (ordered 10/26 - still no progress. May be backordered.) On Saturday, I drove 2 hours to Wilkes-Barre, PA to buy some CJ-7 full steel doors for $200, and yesterday I ordered new outside door handles with lock cylinders and keys to go with them, and new window cranks. Now, to just clean the doors and cut off the half-door striker (I don't have the striker assembly; PO just welded a wheel stud where they would be.) and I'll have some full, locking doors with GLASS windows that actually roll down!

Oh, and I also got the bumperettes off after breaking all the bolts on the driver's side, and cutting them off of the passenger side (the bumperette was bent, and there was no way to get a socket on some of the bolts with the way it was bent)

I washed her for the first time since the Rubicon trip in early September. Then I decided to get the mud stains off the soft top. Here's the thread I started about it.

Got the brakes bled. Drove it for the first time in weeks, and was able to stop the vehicle.

I'm getting the hang of this mechanic stuff. Saved a good penny by not paying for the brake job at Meineke.

Meineke wanted $180 to replace just the rear brake hose and one hard line.
I replaced all 3 brake hoses with extended SS braided hoses and replaced all my hard lines for about $100.

Started and drove the POS since it was parked on 10-22-09

Ahh, that felt good, but stuff has to be fixed on her before I can drive her on a daily basis.

Got stuck in soem terrible traffic on teh way to class. Just imagine. 700 people needing to get into the turn lane to get to class on time and the freaking traffic light is just blinking. It was madness!

On the up side, I got to mess around with my Taurus fan sitting there at idle for 35min. I can tell when the T-stat opens, the temp goes from 210 strait down to 150 in less than 3 seconds

Has the Taurus fan been a worthwhile mod for you?
