I put on my new well new to me Weber Carb 32/36. The Jeep runs soooo much better now. Believe it or not the throtle is not as sensitive as before, but it idles great and runs exellent. Not bad for 150 bucks barely used. I washed the jeep to its clean for once.

A lot

I put a clutch kit on my "new" 1995 motor and dropped the motor into my '91 YJ.

Got the transmission bolted back up and the driver side motor mount replaced.

Gonna try to hook everything up tomorrow and wait for the Ebay ECM to show up in the mail.

Once again under the hood with vacuum lines, seem she was running abit rough, choppy idle so I reconnected some vacuum lines that I had disconnected before and sounded abit better but still off. Found out my carb is loose and tried to tighten it down but no luck....WD40 the bolts. And found out its a Weber carb...not sure what model though. Then I went and disconnected the Vacuum Solenoids and tossed them out along with the Pulse Air System lines, EGR Valve...doesn't work anyway...is it needed? LOL beats me. CTO seems all blocked off also.....we'll see more tomorrow.

Well to start off, we got about 10" of snow yesterday. The plow truck was going back down our (deadend) road and I followed. At the end of the road there is a tunnel the goes under the highway and some railroad tracks. He cut the corner to tight and had the truck stuck. The cab and bed were on two different sides of the corner. He couldn't move forward or back. The truck is a F-550 with a 10' dump full of sinders/salt. I told him I can get him loose and he just laughed and called for help. His help said it would be atleast 1/2 hr. till he got there and the thing was blocking traffic so he asked if I could help. So I laughed and said I would as long as if I broke anything on the teliphone pole, I would not be resposible. So I tied the back of the Yj to the pole and hooked the winch to his receiver. I was not sure if it would work, but my YJ pulled the truck with a 10' bed and full of sinders/salt SIDEWAYS till he could move the truck.

Finished welding on the spring perches and shock mounts after setting the pinion angle on the 8.8, the rattle canned it with Hammerite Black. I hope to get it installed for the last time later today.

Replace all my vacuum lines with new ones according the diagram on one of the weber forums. Ordered my new gas tank and straps..looking for a new sending unit but everything g finds isn't for a 88. (Anyone know where to get one?) Also dropped down that damn 4wd vacuum thing and checked to see if it was working correctly, seems so and has some power to it. will test the 4wd later in the sand. Yeah going posi-lock but that will be next paycheck. Also dropped the bikini top off.....I like it ever more...maybe will drop the windshield but that looks like a hassle. And WD40'd everything again today while waiting for the lift.

Time to hit the beach, surf, drink and oogle at the gurls.

HI-YJ,

Get some PB Blaster and use that instead of WD40. Penetrates a lot better and will work much better than WD-40.

bigstinger,

I just finished up my 8.8 installation. I went with the MORE install kit, very meaty stuff. There are some cheaper ones out there, but I am not sure the quality matches up.

Check the build thread in my sig if you need pics, ideas, etc.
