I bought this jeep on 9/11 3 days later the front calipers started sticking. I pulled the calipers compressed the pistons and put it back together. Evereything worked fine for about a day, calipers got even worse so I just replaced both of them, works great now! So I decided to change the trans fluid today (ax-5) what a nightmare 2 cheap advance auto parts pumps and a lot of cursing and job complete!
Radiator started leaking. Decided no more than I know about this heep I just as well change out the water pump, thermostat and therm houseing and heater hoses. I would've been done in 2hrs if I wouldn't have run to Lowes to get new fasteners to bolt up the radiator. No leaks!
"Rusty" is a 2009 JK, "X", 6spd, 2.5" Rock Krawler, Fox shocks, 33x12.5x15 Duratracs, AR Baja 15x8, Tuffy console, PIAA Fogs, 4:56 gears which are too low for this tire size, JCR front bumper, Warn winch.
My son and I installed an RC 2.5" lift kit this weekend. The 235's look tiny now. Need some longer brake lines, xfer case drop kit, disconnects and wheels and tires.
The rear frame/spring bolts were a beast. Had to cut them out. The front frame/spring bolts came out like butter. I thought the rear, upper bolts were going to be hell to get out because of the gas tank but once you get the old rubber bushings out the bolts just fall out. Nice and easy.
Today I scraped & retinted my hard top glass with some fresh 5%..After that I went crazy & tinted my windshield top to bottom with 40%,wow what a difference ,much cooler inside & unless you know it has film on it you cant tell from outside..
Made some minor repairs after a weekend wheeling trip up in Batchawana Bay, Ontario. Temporary beat out of a crushed front differential cover until the new 3/8" Rock Crusher arrives later in the week. Now I have to decide on cork gaskets or RTV.
