Marked, drilled and tapped my windshield hinge for cj style mirrors. They shake a little at speed, but I now know what is going on behind me, and it only cost about $25 for the mirror, arm and bushings.
Putting on new front rotors and pads tightening a loose brake line putting on new drums and shoes plus all the hardware is getting updated. reinstalling my shackles to the way there supposed to be. Installing a speedo gear. Installing a transfer case lowering kit. I think that is it.
flexed to try to find where to gain articulation. already removed pan-hard and sway bard front and rear.
noticed the front brake lines are pulled TIGHT! scary!, and the rear parking brake cables get really tight also.
Ordered SS brake lines, will have to figure out a relocation for the ebrake or something.
Shackles are not maxed out (still have a lot of angle compared to the leaf), but man does the leaf ever try to twist! no wonder over tight bolts will cause a bind.
if the longer brake lines don't help I'm guessing my shocks are too short? I THINK i have a 3.5" lift with +1" shackles and 33's, and I can't hit the fenders even trying, the wheels come off the ground first.
Oh, and I tightened up the steering box 1/4 turn. still returns to center, but took out some slop.
Installed Cyberdyne digital AFR Gauge and temp guage. Your better off sticking a thermo up your tailpipes ***** all well you know what i mean they suck..called factory (voicemail 3 times) Called jegs there sending me some auto-meter gauges.jegs is great i talk to tyson he is a supervisor id call him with problems or orders.. cool dude!!! i have a good feeling about the autometer like they say you get what you pay for. the temp ok until it gets to like 170 then itwas about 30 degrees off
Pulling off heads now for port n polish and installing cam and roller rockers next mud drag at moroso in november..
today with my YJ i learned a few things about driving with the windshield folded forward:
1) unless i get a pair of driving goggles i'm not going over 40 mph, that's about the limit where wind starts coming around into my eyes even with wrap-around sunglasses
2) while having a hat with me is nice wearing it isn't a good idea since it probably wouldn't stay on my head very long
and 3) keep a hair brush at work from now on.
