I've been chasing down a cold idle issue for... years....

Could someone test this for me on a MPFI 4.2L or a 4.0L?

If you start and cold idle, and you remove the harness to the intake air temperature sensor, does the idle change? At the moment, removing the connector to my IAT sensor has no effect on idle. in comparison, removing the harness to the the MAP makes the jeep run like crap.

Does yours respond the same?? I don't know how much effect the IAT has at low RPM, so I'm not sure if this is a concern.

I'm not sure yet on the ride. Still working on it. Just got motor running Fri after work. Planned on getting all the running gear welded up this weekend and fearing it and putting lockers in next weekend but honey dues got in the way so that puts me off another month or so just from not being able to work on it this weekend. Bummer. But that's life. As long as I have it ready by December it gives me some shake down time for KOH. Can't wait. Should be fun this year. This is my 7-8 year we always take motorcycles and rzrs so this year will be hands down better since I have Jeep and new mh.

Rusty's a great pup.

I've put in day in and day out time into training since I've got him (which is why nothing is going on the YJ at the moment).

He's a well behaved dog. Will not run off. Will not leave a 20-25 foot radius of me or my wife... He's off leash more than he is on it.

Twas an awesome trip. good hiking...but a brutal heat wave.

Stop whining about the 'ride' - If your YJ ain't wrangling your soul free, then might I suggest you buy a stationwagon... at least you can fit all your bull**** in the back.

So. Took my kids to school in the jeep and heard those words every YJ father wants to hear.

Sitting in the carpool lane my 6 yr olds says from the back seat, "Daddy, when I grow up, I want a YJ like yours."
My 8 yr old followed up with "Me to dad, but I want an automatic."

Looks like I'm needing two more YJs.

Good opportunity for a Tiger shark (superwinch) If you are really hell bent on the $$$ then the HF Badlands has good reviews...

I personally don't want to be stuck with a broken winch cause I saved $100.

The best time to find out is now when you don't actually need it.

I just used mine a few weeks back. I had to winch my dead Jeep into the garage. My driveway is too steep to push it.

I also used it back in January, when I got stuck on a snow wheeling trip.

From a bit more reading I found that the hand operated clutch alone is somewhere north of $5,000. I'm now rethinking the AW4 swap.

I don't know what engine you're running. But trans used for racing like 4L80 and th400, etc are commonly converted to manual shift. Imagine "paddle shift" but with a stick. No clutch but you still get to manually shift through all the gears. To get an idea you can YouTube "4L80 manual conversion" to get an idea of operation.
