Expect the pitman arm to be a p.i.t.a., then when it falls off in your hand you can be pleasantly surprised... I used the standard P/A puller.... maxed it out to the point of bending...then 6 or 8 good shots with a 4lb. hammer.... presto
that's pretty much what I did. Thanks. I had my sister swing me by Advance after she picked me up from football. Broke it out and started cranking it down with a breaker bar and socket. Sprayed a little penetrating oil not expecting much. Started smackin with the sledge and kept tightening with the breaker bar. More BFH. More breaker bar. More BFH and !!!!!!!!!!BOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!. Got it. haha
Took off the entire old exhaust system and started to replace it with the new one... got the Borla Header installed today, which midway through it started to downpour so bad that our makeshift tent over they engine compartment didn't help much, spent 15 minutes fighting back the water BUT THE HEADERS ON... more to follow tomorrow.
Removed and painted all 4 flares, took out the axles, removed the knuckles on my D30 and painted the knuckles and have the housing almost totally stripped for paint, and that's about it. Hopefully will have the housing all painted (at least primed) by tomorrow night, and will slap it in and get 'er bolted up this weekend. Then next week my disk brakes and wheel adapters come for my 9" and I can wrap that up and drive my Heep for the first time in over 2 months
92 YJ. Lifted, rubbered, geared, and more
I spent all day and I mean all day getting my 19 year old springs and shocks off the front so I could mount my new 2.5 RC lift kit. Most everything had to be cut off as it was rusted solid and no amount of power blaster was going to get it loose. I never was able to get the steering stabelizer off and guess they can do that when it goes in for alignment. The new springs and shocks are now installed on the front and tomorrow the back end starts. Stil have the rock sliders, new Rubicon flairs, tires and white gages to install but its getting done.
Oh and replace the leaking break line which is going to be a stinker.
Its been sitting idle for (13) days. Checked the level of my front diff fluid, since it leaks, the level was good ta go, and drove her to the beer store, then came back home to drink a couple of beers. I'll be driving her to work tonight.
