I just got the greaseable boomerang shackles I ordered. They give about an inch lift. Should I put them on when I put my lift on or now? Kinda would like to see them on. How long should I expect it to take? And last stupid hopefully not so stupid question what is best practice on the install things to make sure I do first and last. When I changed out my timing chain cover and oil pan cover it would have been nice to know that you put the timing chain cover gasket on first then the oil pan gasket. Things like that is what I'm thinking about when I ask what I should do first or last.

Repaired the jeep today, after my loose driver side u bolts and sheared center pin allowed the axle to slide forward 8". : And the leaf pack was all which way.

All my u bolts are new last year after I did u bolt flips on both axles, during a frame swap. I luckily had a set of ubolts on the shelf, and picked up some grade 8 internal hex cap screws for center pins. I've read that most pins are poor grade steel... I was also able to reuse the leaf pack , No obvious issues after inspection...

Because I have shims up front for better caster angle, the heads where too short to be effective center pins (same w commercially bought pins), so I extended them w some grade 8 hex heads... and made a few spares..

I also went around and checked all the other U bolts, Passenger side I had tacked welded the nuts in place but was able to break the weld and suck up another 1/8 to 3/16 inch, and both rears where not even close to torque specs... ARGH.

I had re-torqued all the U bolts after my rebuild last year about 30 days, but guess it didn't get enough road time to really stretch / settle.

Lesson learned!
Can we use this post as evidence why one should NOT reuse U-bolts?

Put a sticker on:

I gotta verify that the TB is for a 4.0 not a 2.5. it already had the sensors for the 2.5 installed. the other guy did the injectors, he can send you the link. i'll talk to my TB guy tomorrow

I started tonight with no TB and no injectors. Ended the night with 8-12 injectors and 2tb...

Jeep math is awesome.

I don't want to hear any lifted 2wd wrangler jokes. Its still very capable.
I'm 2wd as well right now. Aren't you glad it spins while driving so you can fix it before it breaks on a trail.

I was thoroughly impressed with where my YJ was able to go in 2wd...

And my rig wasn't anything spectacular by any means...

Mine actually is a lot worse than that the guy who made it never installed the thin sleeve to keep the grease in and it moves all over.

Thankfully I still have a 2 piece and so it only sees 4low speeds. I gotta find me another one though
