Question, why do people run dual batteries on yjs? No winch or anything... But two batteries

In order to be effective, the batteries need to match

thats a custom job. I dont see the need however as there isnt much pulling from them to warrant the use. on this rig anyways.. mine on the other hand, needs duals.

Maybe its the fact that I always seem to side with the underdog? That's probably why I'm so in love with yjs in the first place. Gotta love the bastards!

Anyways, in thinking about keeping the squirrels, I want to shave as.much weight as possible. Thusly I want as much in aluminum as possible. Save a few hundred pounds.

I may have to go with PSC flatties this time then.

But boy do I love cloaks. I mean, look at 'em!

Sigh.

I know how you feel. Many times I miss my 4 angry squirrels because it actually requires skill to drive and there's just something about wheeling with them.

But then I drop the hammer and all that goes away haha

They essentially ride on a greased rubber gasket. The whole cavity is packed with grease so there is very little friction. The inner diameter of the cap and the outer diameter of the u joint cross leaves just enough space for a layer of their special antisieze. That means they need to be greased more often but there is a lot less things that can go wrong.

I'd take more pics but they're already in

I pulled the differential apart in my Dana 35 3.07 rear axle by finding a relatively easy way to get the spring pin out of the spider gear assembly. Only to learn my axles must be an upgrade, as they don't have a C-clip to hold them in... So, how do these axles stay in while driving down the road? Looks like the bearing retaining plate at the wheel is the what's keeping things together along with a pressed on ring behind the bearing. humm... not real familiar with this configuration.

You'd be rich if you didn't have that fire breathing monster under the hood! So many things that never would have broken...

I know the feeling of serious power. Its just suddenly seems to matter so much less and seems less important/attractive. And the 2.5 is a little Billy goat off-road. Kinda fun haha!

Cheers

In 89 they were non c clip. There are 4 bolts on both ends holding them in.

You don't have much mud by you either. Around here you either need a lot of wheel speed or a really nice winch haha
