You're looking at a crappy picture. These shackle mounts are excellent mounts! Here are the exact same ones on my Jeep.

I can barely read that, but I think I get the gist of it. They are indeed a hack-job type of spring mount, pre-cut and just waiting for the end user to weld them together. It must make the final install much easier, and cheaper too.
