For whoever's lookin to do something similar. Its not rocket science. U just have to make sure to measure reallllllly well for clearance on all sides and to remove/install the spare.
I would definitely be adding some front to back support to that thing, especially with that big a tire and wheel, it'll rattle it's way off there in no time otherwise

Im not sure what u mean by rattling off. Do u mean the tire rattling off the mount? Everything else is welded solid. The only type of thing that could really happen here is the crossbrace bending out of shape over time with the weight of the spare on there. But The cross brace is nearly twice as thick as the cage's DOM tubing. That thing is beef. I may add some gussets at the cross brace but even those are most likely not necessary. But i guess only time will tell.

I just replaced mine with hex head bolts. One of my OE bolts was stripped so had to use a bolt extractor to get it out. I have tried to replace all torx bolts with hex heads keeps the tool kit simple.

Ya I'm gonna have to go get me an extractor set.

I checked out those twist sockets but it doesn't seem like the kits were all a but big and very pricy but awesome concept. Read a lot of great reviews.

As for grinding, there's no way I can get a grinder or even a dremel on the starter bolts, or a wrench for that matter. It's a socket only location

Thanks ok. I like the look of round lights on a TJ,CJ or JK but I feel the square headlights of YJ deserve square aux lights. And u can't deny amount of light they put out

I have the Rigid Duallys (4LED spots) mounted on the windshield like yours, but my 20 inch light bar is going behind the stinger in front of the grill. Seems like you are going to get a lot of hood glare with that setup. JMHO.
They are bright indeed. I need to relocate my winch control relay box under the hood before I do it. I have been wanting to move that under the hood since the day I installed the winch. Looks ugly.
There is some hood glare, maybe some spacers would help. I didn't have the stinger bumper when I got the bar and I just thought it fit perfect there. I may do 2 more cubes on the bumper eventually.

We finished the transmission install on the YJ tonight. Tomorrow I will be back to wrenching on the CJ.

Maybe paint the center section of the hood flat black. That looks really good when people do that. And it would probably look great on your rig too. That would cut down on some of the glare.
And I agree about the square headlight, square spots/floods. My Hella's are rectangle. Round lights look funny on a YJ. JMHO
They make rectangle LED lights too.

Betcha' wish your girlfriend was as dirty as my Jeep!

Just put sheet metal on the driver side door and riveted it I'm going to cover it in fiberglass tomorrow and the tub is almost complete, just need a new floor pan and a new mirror for the driver side and the tub is ready for primer, still looking for a new slave cylinder and my head from the shop, I'm excited to get it on the road soon. 87' YJ
