IIRC they changed the seat brackets in the Wrangler in "I think" 1990. The newer brackets are a better fit for them.
How far off are they? There is an entire sticky thread about YJ seat swaps, what to do, what fits, etc....

I got a pair of seats from a 93 IIRC to put in my 90, and the 90 seat rails were too short to reach both bolt holes in the seat pans. I just cut a couple extensions from 1/4"x1" bar stock for each seat, drilled & tapped holes, and installed them at the front of the seat rails. 2 more pieces of bar stock at the rear leveled the seat.

Any suggestions on plugs? Read lots of mixes reviews on the E3; not sold in them yet. Bosch +4 have always done good in my other vehicles

Champion copper truck plugs. Any thing more expensive is a waste on these motors.

A partial TT would be a pretty good mod at this point. I'll look into it! I either blew it because it bound up during some flex and skinny pedal (maybe, but don't think so) or it's because when I was installing the caps, one side lost all the needle bearing and I had to repack them in myself and I may or may not have buggered them up... Since there was no way to tell I just crossed my fingers lol. I will for sure be carrying spares from now on though.

Thanks bro! I still need to finish it up but driving it around yesterday I got a lot of honks with the driver flashing me a grin and a huge thumbsup lol! It looks pretty good and I'm happy with it.

Thanks man haha!
The paint job is a 5-10 footer which is honestly about as good as my paint ever was anyways so I'm satisfied with that. After this heatwave passes (supposed to be 108* today) I'll get it all wet sanded one last time and all the little things touched up. Efff doing that in the heat though!

Thanks!
I used Rustoleom enamel and rolled it on. Pretty easy just time consuming.

So I took a TON of pics of it yesterday out on the trail, along with my bikini clad copilot and not a single one of them saved to my card. :

I will have to sort though the GoPro footage and take some screen caps to share, and then I'll finally update my build thread with all the crazy changes that have gone on in the last two weeks.

Cheers

I got quite a bit done this weekend. Manufactured a new passenger rear upper shock mount, removed the panard bar in the back end, and re-attached the leaf springs to the frame, and put a coat of under body coating on everything.

Getting closer to being ready to drive!

I think that paint job is about the only real justification for running angry eyes I've ever seen.

Looking good!

You still going to do the ears on the hood or just gonna stick with the mouth?

Either way it looks well done.

Thanks! It'll look better with the decals and panel lines/rivets put on but it's getting there.

I haven't decided on the ears. I first mocked up the tusks running up onto the hood like the PS concept had them, but there was no way to make it look right in person. No matter how I played with the angles it would only look "right" from a couple of angles and just like a weird triangle shape from everywhere else.

I think I'll decide after I get the decals done and the hood louver on. If it still looks naked I'll do it.

It's far from complete but still pretty cool looking IMO.
Cheers
