Even the jk section is a bunch of moaning about electrical this and option that. I've been through the wj and wk sections and the lack of customizing and hordes of street questions keeps my Yj in my garage at night.
There is hope in the GC general discussion forum. Some decent rigs in there.

But trust me, I understand, hence why I keep sticking around here haha

Worked on my sons YJ. We replaced the turn signal and intermittent wiper switches. Of course one of the heads on the three screws stripped so we will finish up tomorrow. What a PITA to replace these switches.

From lift + tires he could get the 5" he corrected to, chances are the springs will settle a bit though

All I did today was put gas in the heep. Reaaaaally wish the school would pay me back. I'd like to get a Quadratop and use what's left of the stock top as a summer/safari top

Well, today was project day: after a dump run with a trailer piled high of reno refuse, and a trip to Costco, I declared that for my Father's Day enjoyment, I was booking the rest of the day to get some stuff done on my rig.

First up was to properly install and wire a new antenna for the CB, instead of the mag-mount stuck on the front cowl:

Long one for better range:

Short one for heavy bush (since the fiberglass sticks aren't all that flexible):

Took a while to get both sticks tuned properly, but they're bang on now.

Then I moved on to relocate the trailer connector that kept getting the crap beat out of it on washouts... you can see what's left of its bracket on the right in the first pic. Previous owner did that. I moved it to somewhere a little more protected.

Not shown is the tailpipe that was rattling against the side of the gas tank because of a hack-job holding its rubber shock absorber to a section of frame with some coat-hanger wire...

All in all, a pretty productive afternoon, methinks!

Well...Its in!

Had my buddy follow me back to my garage and he said it looked great! No crab walking, drove straight, nothing weird. Felt great inside too, no noises, no pulling.(All in front wheel drive).Still have to get the drive shaft cut and balanced and hook up the new soft line. I let someone borrow my double flaring set and never got it back so hes bringing it by today and helping me bleed the brakes

Hows this angle look? I feel like it might be a bit low but my motor mounts are shot and I figured I could do a 1" mml and worst case scenario, some shims

That angle doesn't looks to bad at all, once u cut ur shaft down n put it in ull really see how it lines up. I doubt ur gona have to mess with it a whole lot tho, it looks to b pretty good.

That makes me feel a bit better lol No one that was helping ever did a rear end swap before and Im the only jeep guy there so I did the best I could with the angle finder, eyeing it up and looking at every write up on this forum.

Im going to call the local drive shaft place today and see if I can get that done today or tomorrow. The anticipation is killing me lol these little drives are such a tease!

Did some 2WD wheeling up to West lake & Strawberry lake. I need to adjust the OX cable some, it wasn't engaging. I got to put some miles on the 8.8 & new gears & it did well. No vibes or gear noise!

I picked up a surplus box that used to house a radio/satellite kit. It is a near perfect fit in the rear of my YJ. I plan to store all my gear in it and bolt a cargo basket to the top for securing coolers and such. It is waterproof too!

Here are some pics...
