Flushed radiator, new thermostat, new belt, was a ***** to convince the tension bolt to get to where I needed it to get the old belt off and new one on, but I got it done with some work on the tension pulley.

kinda a dark pic, but the whole drain plug popped out when I was draining coolant, insert and all, so soldered a new one in. Would have re-soldered the mounting brackets too but ran out of wire, and I'll be getting a whole new radiator this fall anyways.

Also dicked around with a grease pencil on the hood, prolly not going for it though, as I plan on putting venting in the hood.

Thanks!
I had to look up what a twist socket was...
Those look way handy...and EXPENSIVE. Holy cow!
I'll grab a couple and see if I can't get that sucker out.

Well I made the order for jb conversions hd sye. Hopefully I won't run into anymore unexpected problems. Im going to go over all the sye/8.8 threads I have book marked.

Is it possible to accurately measure the right angle for the 8.8 before I get the sye in?

Wtf. Missed out on an epic wheeling trip... twenty minutes before I had to go my jeep decided to blow the circuit breaker for the alternator. Met up with the guys down the road and couldnt keep the circuit from blowing. within minutes of reseting it, it would pop again.. What's wierd is the part of the wore closest to the battery was getting really hot, whereas the wire on the other side of the breaker, towards the alt., was not overly heated...? Idk I'm so bummed

Bummer dude
I missed a trip a couple weeks back when I was overheating like crazy so I know the feeling.

Check your grounds. They like to be sneaky and cause problems like that.

Cheers

If you lived closer I would let you borrow our set from where I work. They do come in very handy.

Ran some sea foam through it...gas tank, carb and crank case. Wow. 15-20 minutes if white smoke and she runs like new. And as a bonus, I found an exhaust leak that's been bugging me for months. Bad gasket at the down pipe. May be time for the TJ pipe upgrade.

I've been wanting to try that stuff. Do you just pour it into your fuel tank/oil/trans/diffs and run it and that's it?

Cheers

Oh and thanks for the offer
I'll call a few of my friends and see if they have access to any. Otherwise I think the guy that buggered up my axle tube would be willing to at least split the cost with me.

Cheers

You pore 1/3 of it into your intake while running, shut it off, wait ten minutes, run it again until it stops smoking, pore the rest into the gas tank. But beware you may have to change your spark plugs after words, the sea foam burns them but is worth it.

If I recall correctly you used a 50a circuit breaker, right? Did you remove the old power wire from the alt and replace with a new heavier gauge wire? How about the grounds?
