There's three ways to learn. From others' mistakes, from your mistakes, or not at all.

I removed my factory rear bumper and bought a couple of body mounts from a scrap yard. Soon I will be mounting my High Lift Jack where my bumper used to be.

Everyone IS out to get you, if you just believe in yourself and try hard enough!

Make sure you get one of those neoprene cover thingy's for it. I can't tell you how many people I see with theirs uncovered, open to mud and dirt and crap. Is it going to work when you really need it or are you going to be screwing with the mechanism for 20 min just to change a tire, you know?

Just spray it with wd40 about once a month and it will be fine. Cover is nice, but moisture is the biggest problem.

Those covers are crap. The zippers are not rated to be sitting in the sun for any long period of time.

Ya I feel like they hold in the moisture. Just keep em lubed. I use rem-oil for firearms it works nice an doesn't seem to attract dirt like other lubes

I learned from my own this past saturday, We chased the pinion depth in my 8.8 for 2 hours until someone with much more experiance than me discovered that I had not seated one of the pinion bearing races all the way The set up was done quickly after that...........

I've noticed two things with all these LED upgrade pics....they all look badass. And about 90% of us have an oil pressure gauge that is shorted. Glad I'm not alone.

I don't know about the mechanism not working on mine, I have the extreme version and it is coated in something that makes it work slick as snot everytime I use it. I have the standard version in my work truck and it sees all the elements year round and seems to work 90% of the time anyway. Unlike most people that have a hi lift on their jeep for decoration, I use mine every day at work. Its a farm jack and it gets used on the farm.
