I decided to change the fuel pump today. The jeep has been refusing to start from time to time and I have changed plugs, wires and fuel filter. Connections seem to fine and with a gentle tap or two with the 3lb sledge on the skid plate it usually will start. So figured the next item to replace was the fuel pump and filter in the tank. Between the write-ups on the forum and my Haynes manual it went relatively well. The three bolts towards the front were a headache but with a lot of elbow grease I finally got them off.

On the negative, it appears the fuel pumps at AutoZone and Advance Auto are not a direct replacement even with the adapter.

On the positive, it looks like I have a 20 gallon fuel tank.

Oh well, got to get dirty and didn't have to help with housework. Now, I just have to find a fuel pump.....

took it wheelin this weekend, decided that I need armor and need to start gathering parts for my SOA. I hate having no money, and I hate the fact that when I get money it goes to gas and to my band. Dads yj broke a brake line this weekend as well.

Belly flat skid plate.
It was easy with the 2" body lift I have.
The exhaust was a bit stubborn...but I got it back together although it's not pretty.
Enjoy.
PS check out my drunken welds!!!

Hard Top

Painted the hard top Sunday, put it back on today. New seals all the way around from Quadratec, including a new windshield frame seal. (Had to drive it around a little with the windshield down!!!)

Finished bringing the fiberglass hole patch up to level with body filler, final sanding and re shaping of the J of the "Jeep" to come. Sanded down and sprayed the passenger side running rail with primer and then Duplicolor truck bed liner stuff. It seems to work well, but I'm not going to do my entire bed or whatever until I find that it meets my standards.

And I removed the passenger side diamond plate rocker guard and filled a bunch of stupid, weird sized holes with JB weld. I'm planning on painting them flat black or if the rattle can bed liner stuff holds up I will use that. It should look really slick. The polished diamond plate isn't very attractive alone.

Oh and I JB welded a small hole in the floor.

You know I keep putting hours of work into this and its not really getting better Maybe it will all come together at once.

I used a rust/paint stripping wheel on my power drill to clean up the passenger side frame rails. Then I applied the first of two coats of POR-15 over the rail.

First let me say... I would like to find the guy that decided to use Torx on the Jeep, and put all the stripped ones I have dealt with into one of his/her orafaces.

Got that out of my system.

I put all the hardware on for my new soft top, then installed the nice new Bestop. Nice. I'm happy with it.

Next I took those cheesy little door mirros off and modified some OEM newer Jeep mirrors to fit my full hard doors. They turned out great.

I'm curious what you used for the paint. I'm needing to paint my grey one black sometime soon. Open to hear what work's best, and will not peel off.

Hard top rear window

Had one cut out of "bullet proof" lexan. A little pricey but cheaper than a replacement top. Not perfect but better than no window.
