OK, for starters:
1) You'll need the 2" square tubing for the hitch itself.
2) Weld a plate on either side of the tubing that will allow you to have the platform locked in either the up or level positions using a 5/8" hitch pin.
3) You can extend the side brackets aft with a support welded between them.
4) On the front of the pivoting platform tube weld an extension extending forward with a brace that will ride securely to the bottom of you actual receiver for support.

This will allow you to have it locked level while in use, with support braces both forward and aft of the pivot point, or it can be locked in the vertical stowed position.

How's that???

I loosened up all the shackle bolts and retightened... Helped a little with the rear...

Now wondering if its worth spending the $ on having rear shock brackets welded onto the D35 or just leave it and continue searching for an 8.8

Parked next to JeepPsycho's YJ on campus. He's got a pretty beast rig compared to mine, it's mostly the turbo charged diesel engine and the four-link, but overall, I admit I admired it for a bit.

yeah there's definitely more to it than just the turbo diesel and 4-link, he worked the local oil fields to fund his rig, had it sitting in Matt's 4x4 shop for a few weeks to get the setup. I even turned a wrench or two to help out along the way. It was educational to see it progress.

Installed my new to me rear seat. My god does that takeup a lot of space in the rear, but now I can safely take my boy and wife out in the rig whenever I want. Just gotta make sure his car seat fits nicely in the rear seat and away we go!!!

Yeah it looks like blonde hair and a brown lunch sack. Must be a heck of a ride.
