Finally got the intermediate steering shaft out.
My 87 wrangler bodywork manual also came today.

image-1989954175.jpg

This book is amazing.
It has a breakdown of everything body and frame related.
It even shows where all the spot welds are that connect all the pieces of the body together.
Even has frame dimensions.

image-3832369039.jpg

image-2801033292.jpg

Even info on how to paint fender flares.

This book will be very helpful when it comes to removing the dash and firewall.

Holy carp, think you can scan some of that manual for us Jeepforumers?

All about that unibody life.

Speedo is the only one you need!! There actually is truth in that statement because it's also our gas gauge. Well I hope you get the other unimportant ones fixed!

Yes please do. And if you're not willing to at least tell us where you got it and for how much.

Lol yeah. I use my odometer for gas since its not worth dropping the tank for.

Holy Carp
When I get a chance I'll try to scan it.
With shipping this was around 26 bucks from eBay.
Totally worth it.
Do a search on eBay for 1987 or 1986 wrangler in the literature section of eBay motors and you might find a couple.
Also jdjames76 is who I got it from and I think he still has some left, do a search for 1986 amc in his store and you might be able to find them.
Looks like someone mixed up a image on this page.

Yeah man they were installed the afternoon I got them:

---------

Got the drivers side pod in and bolted up. Can only use one bolt, otherwise I would never be able to remove the windshield rollbar pieces. It's held in there more than snug enough.

All about that unibody life.

Removed all engine electrical except one wire at the alternator, drained oil & coolant, disconnected fuel lines, removed radiator & heater hoses, removed radiator, removed battery tray, removed coolant & wiper fluid bottles

The only things I need to take off the engine now are the power steering lines and one wire at the alternator. I still want to remove the grill & fenders--I started to, but didn't finish. Then I'll pull out the AX5, unbolt the motor mounts, and that sucker is out of there!

I have a chilton's for YJs and I need this one, too, it has the nifty build diagrams that are hard to find it seems. I have an acquaintance that said he will give me a whole set of diagram blueprints for all jeep models, but might be a few months, gotta wait for him to get back into town from Hawaii (lucky bastard).
