Turned down a dodge 1500 with a rebuilt 318 and trans with car trailer for my roll '89. Having the truck and trailer doesn't do me any good if my jeep doesn't work haha.

Did a basic tuneup. New plugs, cap, rotor, wires, and an air filter. Also picked up a bottle of degreaser from AutoZone, because they were on sale. Was not expecting it to degrease this well, my engine actually is relatively clean. Now only to do something about that firewall..
Have not noticed an improvement to how it runs, unfortunately. I believe I either have a small and completely unnoticeable vacuum leak, or something else major is at play.

took her from this
to this
found that mess when I finally got around to pulling out the carpet and poking my way around the weak excuse for a floorboard that was there that's what was left after knocking out all the paper thin stuff, new steel only screwed in for the time being as it is my only vehicle going to be cutting out rotten parts of the rockers and fixing those this week after I pick up another ride once that's done then i will weld this in properly.

Tracked down the "leak"
It's not a leak. It just hasnt been rained on for so long in a row since I got it that I didn't know the vent system could overflow and dump water on the floor boards (I had assumed having the drain tube clean was all it was to it... LOL).
I've also done a little preventative here... I added mesh to the vent area to keep **** from blocking up the drain plug in the future.
I also found out
A) The PO is some sort of deranged wire-wizard... The radio has TWO possible plug-in locations. The stock one and a second one the PO piggybacked onto the stock one.
B) Water didn't kill my stereo. It's just a ****ty stereo and died on it's own. Here it is after I took it apart (GOT MY ACDC CD BACK! WOOOOO!)
All it does is DEMO mode and if you click "source" to get the radio/cd/aux it just shuts off...
EDIT: Also swapped around the burnt out fuse (20A) from the ciggy lighter for the one for rear wiper (20A)... As I don't even have a rear wiper...

Turned out to be the ignition coil and crank position sensor. After the violent back fireing and jumping from 0rpms to 3000rpms back and forth, I now have a miss at idle that smooths out in higher rpms. Im praying its nothing serious.
Going to change out the spark plugs and do a compression test...wish me luck

My Jeep really needs a paint job and stories like this scare the hell out of me. I'm thinking I'll do it myself so I only have myself to blame, if things go wrong. Sorry to hear your story. I hope they re do it or give your money back. That is simply unforgivable.

I would only bedline the bed, not the body. Have you ever seen the work that goes into removing that stuff, if you want to actually put a coat of paint on the body? I have and it's a PITA! I'll spare the "next" owner of my Jeep that nightmare. Of course, I'm not preaching. People can do what they want. I would just regret doing it. Besides I like shine that comes off a good coat of paint. JMO.

I'm with you on that one. I intend on bedlining my entire Jeep because I don't like the look of scratches in a fresh coat of paint, since my Jeep is offroaded much more than most Jeepers offroad theirs.
