Well I finally get to say it.... I WHEELED IT!!!! All weekend at the dunes and it did amazing for what it is, made it up some dunes that I really had my doubts on and scared the hell out of my girlfriend. Need to extend the brake lines though since I was using the front brake lines as limiting straps :-/ best part of the weekend was today though when I had to pull 2 of my buddies off the beach, one of them was in a Chevy 1500 with a 4-5k lbs trailer and the other was a Chevy 2500 with a 3-4k lbs trailer, such a good feeling!
that is sick. Any trouble pulling them out?
here is my build threads
Ordered my MCE Flatty Fenders today. They're currently re-tooling, so they won't be ready until March, but I wanted to get my name on the list so I don't have to wait any longer. Can't wait for these to get here. Now I have to change the bumper. Got on in mind already.
Only dug down once an all I did was back up, fill in the holes, dig the trailer out a little, then put it in 4low and take a different line, I think one of my buddies has two videos of me pulling the 1500 I'll try and get them and post them
While researching ax5 fluid today, I realized my tranny hasn't shifted very good since 1993, when I took it to a Jiffy Lube and had them change that fluid. Wonder what they put in there? Can't believe it was the fluid all this time. I even asked my professional mechanic after the fact and he said I needed a new clutch.
That fluid hasn't been replaced since then. Have ordered one gallon redline MT. Here's hoping...
Starter was sounding sluggish, so I pulled it and broke it down completely. Gave it a good cleaning. Some parts were worn a little, so it will need replacing sometime, but not in the near future. Starts up like a brand new one now. Can't believe cleaning it helped it that much. Now on to boring the intake for the 4.0 TB swap.
