Replaced water pump, cracked power steering bracket, belt, and all hoses. Got new wires and plugs waiting to go on. Replacing the valve cover gasket, because its been blowing oil since I got it, with the fanciest gasket I have ever installed. Waiting on replacements for the cracked, brittle and now broken PCV valve and vacuum lines to be delivered(local Jeep dealer delivers them for free and its a 30 min drive) woot.
Painting the valve cover with a paint a friend recommended, black wrinkle paint. Going to put a couple more coats on before installing. I will post pictures when its done, looks bad *** so far.
Was just going to do water pump but figured I might as well do all I can while I am under the hood.

It passed smog. Virtually perfect in all but one category. NO is in the middle, so no sweat. I was worried because it only got a marginal pass 2 years ago I guess repairing or replacing everything from the head out except the o2 sensor paid off. Header crack welded. New cat. Cat back.

I'm with ya there. Got mine for $35 last summer. Still sitting under the deck waiting for me to work on it. Those fools with Exploders don't know what they got!

LED's Chrome Studs with Wingnuts.
Put two led stirps under dash and wired them to rocker panel. Eight Chrome studs and Chrome wingnuts for Valve Covers. Bought for Another engine, but wouldn't fit and jeep was saying pick me. So we put them on the jeep and have to buy another pack to get total of ten fasteners. Getting stuff together for cold air intake for the single barrel. The coiled wire behind the rocker switch panel is the signal wire for the mechanical temperature gauge. Working on a place to put the sender. It is too big for the electrical sender spot and hits something in the coolant sensor location. I have a part for a boat engine that is a short copper alloy tube with rolled ends for radiator hose and a pipe fitting soldered into it for a temperature sender. I will cut the lower radiator hose and install this part with the mechanical temperature sender. This 88YJ has been running great since we got rid of all the Renix system and wiring. The 34ICH has been great.
