What is this 1/4" t/s jack under my dash?

The previous, previous owner did a lot of stuff to my YJ that he didn't explain to the dealer that the PO bought it from. I've just started taking my dash apart and chasing all the loose wires. This one appears to be a 1/4" tip sleeve jack and leads to a couple very long, heavy gauge wires that are tied in several bundles behind the dash. I don't yet know where those wires end up, but I'm wondering what it might have been used for.
Thanks!

It's kind of difficult to know what it's for if it's not stock without knowing where the other end goes. Did you trace down the wires? It could be anything from a mic jack for a CB to controls for a winch.

Or even audio input for a iPod or what not. The wiring nightmares of yjs. People think with some electrical tape and a pair of wire strippers they are now an electrician. When I tore apart my dash to install my switch for my kc's I must have found 6 live wires with noting on the end of them. Looked like someone was trying to burn my jeep to the ground.

That's my guess. Maybe even a hook up for a guitar, or base.

It looks like a cable end with the cable broken to me.
Maybe a choke or a homemade posi-loc. With the light there I would say home made posi-loc and the light is the 4wd indicator. Check your cad on the dana30 and see if all seems well there.

It's definitely a t/s or t/r/s jack, not a broken switch.
I haven't chased it's wires all the way down yet (I only have the plastic off the dash) but there's at least 30 feet of it in various bundles behind the dash and I haven't found the other end of it yet.
It's size (1/4") and placement (above the driver's left knee) doesn't make much sense for it to be an audio input.
My best guess so far is some kind of homebrew winch remote. I was really just wondering if anyone had seen this before.
If there is anything attached to the other end I'll post in here what it is when I find it.
