Well It`s That Time Again

In anticipation of winter updates and Black Friday sales, what are your plans for winter upgrades ?

Replacing some heim joints with EMF`s
Installing the Speaker LED headlights I`ve been setting on for the last month
Better grommet in the firewall for the amp power cable
TC emergency brake (maybe)
OEM TJ mirrors
Better PS cooler
Stinky Fab solid engine mounts that I`ve had for the last year

You ?

Well, now that I have an '89 to drive for the winter, my "winter projects" are to get the '91 project together before spring.
  • wire brush, sandblast, and paint frame
  • front axle shackle reversal and 1" front stretch
  • spring-over conversion
  • Build the 4.7 HO I have everything but pistons for
  • figure out a 6-point or 8-point cage that doesn't look terrible
  • Install SYE, mod XJ CV driveshaft
  • Rebuild 8.8 rear LS axle/diff, install 2" stretched back
  • re-upholster Capri XR2 seats and install
  • CJ-style dash panel fab
  • Paint it and drive it!

It seems possible but somehow I don't think I can get this all done before April...especially if unexpected rectangular dollars are needed...

Right now focusing on 4.0 block and 258ci crank. That way I can get the machine work done 'leisurely' and move on to the frame while that happens. Can't spend to much $$$ in a single month.

I'll be finishing my new axles and getting them under the jeep. That means new wheels too. Other than the tons I'm probably going to pick up a bazooka tube to complement my wakeboard speakers. Someone's gotta get the party going on the trails. Lol

9 months out of the year, but it's 27 outside right now. Wednesday morning it snowed. This global warming is freezing my butt.

The high will be 57 today, but I ride naked and that's a little on the chilly side.

Gas tank skid.
Add more to the cage.
fix the O2 sensor wires.
upgrade headlights & wireing.
Replace the OME 36r's in the rear with some BDS or RE 4" springs. (butt sag)
New shocks. (bilstiens)
Tera low 4-1 case. (probably closer to spring)

Roll cage is going in today!

The rest of my parts pile will make it's way in over this winter. Planning to finish phase 1 of my build before Jeep Beach so I've got to get busy!

Let's see.

I got shocked by my spark plug wires Tuesday and then I remember they were put on when I was a sophomore in high school. My distributor was making a squeaky noise so I put my hand on the cap to confirm. So new wires are coming soon.

I also noticed my pitman arm is hitting the tie rod yet again. I may address this also.

My radio keeps losing power and resetting and now it's staying on about 15 seconds after the key is out...weird.

I plan on getting a new welder in January if all goes to plan, then I will burn in my OR Fab cage and make it somewhat decent and maybe even safe.

Oh and my engine mounts are crap yet again. Brown Dogs are in the future.

Fish, have you seen Jeff`s site ?

Tom, how I would love 57* today. See your point about running nekid. Could just pile on the outerwears but that kinda defeats the purpose of free spiriting a bit, eh ?

Looks like many of you have some good plans. Lets check back in March and see how much really got done. Doubt my list will get completed
