Well Made Jeep Parts!

Yesterday, I went out to the Jeep and the starter had finally died. I went over to Autozone and got another for 74.00 and put her on.

The one that died was the stock one and had been running strong for 13 Years and over 200k miles! Right on!

I was at my friends house while he was looking at Toyota-forums.com and those kids have an entire section for making fun of Jeeps and how they fall apart. I saw a kid who said he had to replace his starter weth only 20,000 miles on his truck. Good job Johnson, my parts lasted longer!

I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST TOYOTAS.
Only those who have everything against Jeeps for no reason!

Before and after:
(Hope I have enough posts to make this picture work)

When I lived in the rust belt, I planned on replacing my Wrangler starter about once a year. The cold and salt beats the heck out of them. You made the right move; since you bought your starter at AutoZone, you'll never have to pay for another. I just replaced mine (free) when I dropped the new engine in last month. Guess I hit it kind of hard with mineral spirits, the bearings were dry. Go figgur!!

If you don't mind some advice, I ALWAYS buy the liftime warranty parts at AutoZone. You wouldn't believe how much you save in the long run. In September, I walked out of AutoZone with $350.00 in free parts...which was greaat, because I was broke at the moment.

I would've purchased the the LT warranty starter but they were out of stock, and I only had enough time to buy it, put it on, take a picture and drive it to work. I know what you mean though...

Well, even in the rust belt the starters can last you a good long time. I just replaced mine over the summer after 10 years of owning the Jeep, looked like it was the original one too. So 16 years, 120k miles, and lotsa use because of a stalling problem .

just don't expect to get anywhere near that life expectancy out of the new one. they just aren't built the same. I have the LT one from AZ and it's dying in less than 2 years.
