Welding a dana 30

So I recently put an 8.8 in my yj and my plan is to put a dana 44 in the front end but that's a ways away. My question is I've been pondering to weld up my front end. I also deleted my vacume acuator with a cable engage and I looked in and saw it worked. I'm thinkin of I weld up my spider gears I should have open differential until I engaged that cable. Am I right? I'm just not sure. And if I'm not will it handle way worse with a welded front end? Thanks

it will work but as soon as you put it in 4wd it will be fully locked and a pain to do just about anything.

they call that the poor mans selectable. you can drive in 3wd that way too. however snow driving will become stupid if you get snow there. better off in 2wd until you get stuck

Ahhh nice! I thought so when I was looking at That ring and how it came over both shafts that's great to know! What do yiu mean by snow? Does a front locker crap out In snow? I had a detroit on my dana 35 until it blew out and I'd slide all over

I wouldn't do it solely on the dent it could put in the resale value.
