You will most likely need a whole carrier...

Did you pull the cover and take a look? Most of the time, the spiders are welded to the carrier and you will need to replace everything.

the answer is no. the side gears stick in and would make it impossible. even the conical shape of the back of the spiders would prevent it.

It depends... Probably not you need to pull the carrier, pull that center pin out of the spider gears and see if you can brel em' loose so they tumble... It saves you 75 bucks if u can get em' out... If the center pin was welded then u may be out of luck... Take some pics and let us see the damage if 75 bucks is worth ur time.

I haven't pulled it yet. i have to drive it tomorrow so i didn't want to drain it yet. I only know because the previous owner told me and i hate it. i want to get rid of the vaccum disco but i can't with it welded like it is. driving it on the street with it locked is brutal

Lol nevermind it would definatly be easier to replace the carriers I've seen people burn out the enterior of a welded carrier but since u have to but new spiders anyway might as well replace the whole thing.

Yes xj axles are pretty much the same as yj... You can interchange.

I'll just pull the carrier when i got to get the shafts then. i plan on using a one piece shaft so i just want an open carrier. hopefully a selectable locker in the future

Definatly the way to go. I've got TJ long axle on my passanger side and I love it! It's the only way to go when getting rid of that freaking vaccum.

mines ridiculous. the po did a lot of things i don't understand. he completly took out all the vaccum lines from the t-case to the vaccum disco. so i have had to pop the hood and switch over vaccum lines manually to lock and unlock it. and i have had enough of that

you could for now just hook up a solenoid of an 90 or older jeep that was used for smog purposes. just hooh full vac to on side and the other side to the disco. just wire to an electric switch on the dash and you have contoll at your finger tips
