Which way to install pilot bearing NV3550?

I'm not sure which way the pilot bearing goes in on the NV3550. One side of the bearing is stepped down and the other side is bevelled. anyone know? It probably doesn't matter but wanted to make sure. thanks

Assuming we are talking about the bearing that goes into the aft end of the crank where the transmission mates up, the side with the two notches in it go toward the crank or front of vehicle. this is so you can again get it out with a tool designed just for this purpose. Or as you stated a step down on the inside of the bearing to let the tool grab onto something to pull it out again when needed. Lightly grease it don't use a lot of grease.
