Vibration and popping?

I recently bought an 88 yj and if I turn my steering wheel all the way left and move at slow speed I get a lot of popping/crunching noise coming from the drivers side wheel area and at speed I get a slight vibration only when turning the wheel to the left. I'm thinking wheel bearing but thought I'd jump on here and ask before I order my parts. This is my first Wrangler after owning several XJ's.

It could also be the axle u-joints. Take a Look at them and if they are not newish or look crusty or original, replace them as well

I'm betting your axle u-joints are shot as well. My Ram 2500 need axle u-joints and pops when I turn. I would think the unit bearings would pop all the time if it was them.

I took a look at the axle u-joints....They look like they were put on in 1988. I know what I'm doing this weekend.
