Vent setting won't work with fan

Gotta simple question to ask about my yj vent setting. When selected, should the fan activate as well like it does for heating and cooling? If not, would it be possible make this happen? Would be nice to have forced vent air.

Fan does not run on vent. Fan runs on heat and defrost only.

Can't say about mod potential.

I don't believe it will work because I think the fan blades are in the way when it's vented. I remember playing around with it when the fan was on trying to adjust the flaps and I got that nice grind sound when I manually moved the flaps.

If you want more force with your vent, pick up a hood vent scoop. It collects air that bounces off the windshield.

As noted, no fan assist on vent, ram air only

Glad I like to sit and lurk lmao. I couldn't remember if the vent was forced air or fan kicks in. Now I know why on vent it does nothing, Only heat and defrost. Saves me time, Thanks OP for asking

I suppose the engineers figured a Wrangler already has all the ventilation one could ever ask for.

No biggie. Just in the process of completing my jeep. Last item is to change the speedometer gear cuz I went from 4.10 to 4.88.

They can be reversed to limit the amount of air coming in as well.

Speedo should be correct assuming you did not change the speedo gear when you put the tires on. 4.10's and stock tires = 4.88's and 33's

From what I can see, its only about 2 mph off. Maybe the 41 tooth gear is not needed.

What I am telling you is the stock speedo gear on a 4 banger manual YJ is 41 tooth.

Oh **** !!! Thanks buddy. You just saved me some money. I was using a phone app speedometer for comparison. Appears to be pretty dang close.

Took gear out and yes....you are right. There's a 41 tooth gear already in there. Thanks for the tip.
