I would but I drive the jeep on the street in the summer and heims aren't street legal for what ever reason, normally that would but me but I am running DIY deadlocks and no doors most the time and so I don't want to add any more things for the state patrol to tag me with haha!
I'd take my chances over running TREs I've had heims for years through inspections, roadside inspection/drunk checks and getting pulled over all without the bat of an eye. But I hear you that's why mines relatively mellow and unassuming on the outside.

You should be fine with the stock pitman arm but may run into the interference issue of draglink/tie rod... stupid Y steering. If you do get the bracket that slides the box forward from partsmike or MORE.

Haha my jeep is far from tame on the outside......I hope to source a stock yj pitman arm shortly!

I would mock it up and measure to make sure it accommodates your setup.

I used a rugged ridge hd steering kit modified and run on top of the knuckle. I had to do some work to it with goferit bushing and my own bushing at the draglink connection. Stock pitman arm. Running 2.5" sua with 1" shackles.

Some pics in my build thread. If you want to do this you actually need the TJ steering kit.

It has been on for a while now with DD and a few offroad trips. No issues so far.

You actually just need the TJ passenger side tre. I talked to rugged ridge about this and they are looking into offering a flip kit for the YJ's.

Yeah but if you get the whole kit you get the passenger tre, the other parts are exactly the same. I did a huge write up on this on wrangler forum.

I heard RR was changing the YJ kit too but had not looked into it further.

If your real worried about it just mock it up with pvc. its cheap and won't hurt your wallet as much as screwing up the dom.
