ugh slave cylinder

cluch went out on the way to the mud hole, limped it back to my buddies house. bled clutch line. still no pressure.
got under it, figured a new slave cyl, bought a new slave and clutch. took off the bell housing bolts. there was no cover on the flywheel.

the kid that i got it from was literally retarded.

floor jack under bell housing took off the skid plate.
floor jack under the transfer case. drive shafts off.

day three and we havent been able to get the tranny backed off the motor. removed floor cover over shifters and t-case shift lever. it came off easily. tranny shifter refuses to get off. ive pulled and pulled im not sure what else to do. plan on removing the starter tomorrow and hopefully helping out the sit.

im not sure what to do. its just sitting apart. need help.

Is the floor jack still under the T-case?

Did you get the two torx bolts out of the top of the bellhousing?

You've removed the 4 bolts that attach the shift tower to the tranny & you still can't get the shifter out?

bare with me my friend and i havent been around the block too many times. but him and his brother did the same procedure on his 89 and he didnt have too many problems.

t-case is still on the jack.
im gonna go today to autozone and see if i can get some torx bits.
we havent taken any torx out yet, but the trans has slid back a little.

the problem is the shifter in the way. i think the torx are out already not by us.

i started yesterday removing the shift tower and my dad said i should also remove the transfer case. well see today when i get that last nut off the top of the shift tower.

They may not be TORX, they look like it, but I have found them to be 12 point sockets instead. Just keep that in mind. I put internal TORX drivers on the top of the bell for the I5 with an AX-15 and wound up taking them back and using the 12 point socket instead.

Your starter probably won't need to come off, though getting it out of the way is helpful.

To get the shifter off - you need to push DOWN on that ring and then ROTATE IT While pushing down some more. Count your bolts off the bell - you should have 6 that matter, as shown here:

If you don't have all 6 that matter - it's not sliding anywhere (Ignore the release arm - different bell with plans for putting the 4 banger against an SM420/Dana18/Warn Overdrive combination.
