U joint cap trail fix

Question for yall. On the trail today in the YJ field test #2 I ended up breaking a u joint u-bolt on my rear yoke. It was a Tom Woods u joint I lost one of the caps so I threw some caps on it off of a spicer u Joint. My question is is this a bad idea? They were both 1310 u joints and it fits just fine. A caps a cap to me. But wanted to know if there were any issues with this?

Thanks

Tyler

As long as the needle bearings are all in place and there is no slop at all and its greased, you should be good-to-go.

Oh I didn't get off the trail. I continued on for multiple hours after that little speed bump. Only in a YJ.

Sent from my phone because I'm doing something "more important"

Those caps are all colored matched at the factory! If those little rubber rings don't match, your fuel mileage goes down the crapper.

AZ would have to "match" a part in the 1st place before they could mismatch it.

Ha yea the suck. Whenever I give them a part number they always look at me weird. Sometimes they even ask me for the vehicle. I just give them the part number again and say I have a YJ. Then there really confused
