Grab the lock with a set of your best pliers and twist back and forth to see if the center section will come loose.

Can you get the lid up high enough to get something thin in there like a stir stick for paint. If so try to use the stir stick to get it unjammed. Use a hammer and a screw driver to try to chisel the hinge off.

its not that something is jammed against the lock... its inside the lock ... i shoved my acu top into the console... and shut the lid which caused my top to get jammed within the lock itself

Get a pic of the hinge, is it spot wedwd on, if so drill the spot welds out and there ya go. If its the locking mech that is jammed I would drill it out with a very large bit and get a new lock

If you have a drill take bit that is a little bit bigger than them two spot welds and drill them out. Then use a hammer and a screw driver and tap and the back lip of the lid and the back will pop right up. For the repair a couple 1/4 20 bolt and nuts, rivets, or have them welded back together.

Well that will take a little bit more than a couple nuts and bolt to fix. Instead of buying another tuffy might I suggest a ammo can console. Should be pretty easy to find one.

Someone should send this thread to Tuffy. Quite a testament to their products! I've got the Tuffy center console, overhead console, and glove box. I've got several spare keys so hopefully I never run into this situation! :-)
